WII Recruitment 2023 : The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) has notification announced for Multi Tasking Staff (MTS)/ Assistant Grade – III/ Technician/ Technical Assistant (Field)/ Assistant Director/Senior Technical Officer (2) posts. There is a total of about 15 vacancies available for the above-mentioned posts. Candidates with the qualification of Bachelor’s degree/ Master’s degree/ B.E/ B. Tech/ B. About WII: The Wildlife Institute of India (WII), an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, was established in 1982. The institute is based in Dehradun, India. It is located in Chandrabani, which is close to the southern forests of Dehradun. WII carries out wildlife research in areas of study like Biodiversity, Endangered Species, Wildlife Policy, Wildlife Management, Wildlife Forensics, Spatial Modeling, Ecodevelopment, Ecotoxicology, Habitat Ecology, and Climate Change.

Educational Qualification:
- Multi Tasking Staff (MTS): High School from recognized Board (State/Central).
- Assistant Grade – III: 10+2/XII or its equivalent from recognized Board Direct Recruitment will be through:
- Written competitive examination of 60 marks.
- Typing speed of 35 w.p.m in English or 30 w.p.m in Hindi typing on computer of 40 marks.
- Technician:
- SSC/10th standard with 50% marks in the aggregate from recognized Board (State/Central) and IT certificate of 2 years duration in relevant trade OR
- SSSC/HSC/12th in science with 60% marks in aggregate in relevant field.
- Technical Assistant (Field):
- 1st class B. Sc (Science)/ 1st class Bachelor of Library science or equivalent. OR
- 1st class diploma in Engineering/Technology of 3 year’s fulltime duration or its equivalent.
- Assistant Director:
- Master’s Degree of a recognized university in Hindi/English with English/Hindi as a compulsory elective subject or as medium of examination at degree level. OR
- Master’s Degree of a recognized university in any subject other than Hindi/English with Hindi/English medium and English /Hindi as a
compulsory/elective subject or as medium of examination at degree level. OR - Bachelor’s Degree of a recognized university with Hindi and English as compulsory/ elective subjects or either of the two as medium of examination and the other subject as a compulsory elective subject, plus a recognized diploma/ certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and vice a versa in Central/State Government officers including GOI undertakings.
- Senior Technical Officer (2):
- 1st class B. Sc (Science)/ 1st class Bachelor of Library science or equivalent with 11 years’ experience in the relevant field. OR
- 1st class diploma in Engineering/Technology of 3 years fulltime duration or its equivalent with 12 years’ experience in the relevant field. OR
- M. Sc or equivalent with minimum of 55% marks; or B.E/B. Tech. or equivalent with 9 years’ experience in the relevant field.
Age Limit ( As on 30 June 2023 ):
- Multi Tasking Staff (MTS): 18 – 27 Years.
- Assistant Grade – III: 18 – 27 Years.
- Technician: 18 – 28 Years.
- Technical Assistant (Field): 18 – 28 Years.
- Assistant Director: 18 – 27 Years.
- Senior Technical Officer (2): 40 Years
Age Relaxation:
- Relaxations in case of SC/ST/OBC/PWD and other categories as per Government of India rules issued from time to time.
- No age relaxation is allowed to SC/ST/OBC candidates applying against the unreserved posts.

WII Recruitment 2023 Selection Process
- Multi Tasking Staff (MTS):
- The question paper (bilingual- in English and Hindi) will have total of 100 marks multiple choice questions (MCQ) carrying 100 multiple choice questions (MCQ) at level of 10th standard/High School.
- Assistant Grade III:
- The question paper (bilingual- in English and Hindi) will have total of 60 marks multiple choice questions (MCQ) carrying 60 multiple choice questions (MCQ) at level of 12th standard/Intermediate.
- Technician:
- The question paper (bilingual- in English and Hindi) will have total of 100 marks multiple choice questions (MCQ) carrying 100 multiple choice questions (MCQ) at level of 12th standard/intermediate.
- Technical Assistant (Field)/ Assistant Director (OL)/ Senior Technical Officer (2):
- The question paper (bilingual- in English and Hindi) will have total of 70 marks multiple choice questions (MCQ) carrying 70 multiple choice questions (MCQ) and 30 marks for essay in English at level of Graduation.
- Each question will carry 1 mark. 1 mark will be awarded for each correct answer, whereas, 1/2 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer in
written examination. - Proficiency Test :
- The candidates on the basis of merit of written examination in a ratio of 1:5 will be called for typing test on computer for the post of Assistant Grade III.
- The typing speed of 35 w.p.m in English or 30 w.p.m in Hindi typing is required and maximum 40 marks awarded for typing test.
Notes:
- A competitive written examination will be conducted at Dehradun.
- The candidates are advice to check the Institute’s website time to time for the date of examination etc.
Application Fees:
- Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs. 700/- (Rs. 500/- Application fee + Rs. 200/- Processing fee) through Demand Draft or Pay order from any nationalized bank drawn in favour of Director, Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun.
- the SC/ST/PWD and all female candidates are exempted from payment of application fee
