Eligibility Criteria
- Assistant Sub Inspector (Steno)/Head Constable (Ministerial): Candidates must have passed 12th grade or an equivalent examination from a recognized board or university.
- Group B Posts: Applicants should possess a B.E/B.Tech degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university.
- Group C Posts: Candidates with a B.Sc degree or Diploma in the relevant field from a recognized institution are eligible to apply.
- For certain positions, candidates who have passed 10th or 12th grade from a recognized board are also eligible.

Assistant Sub Inspector (Steno)/Head Constable (Ministerial):
- Candidates must have passed Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent Test from a board or university recognized by Central or State Government.
- Note: Two or Three year Diploma Certificate in technical education done after10th class will not be considered equivalent to intermediate (10+2).
Age Limit ( As on 31 May 2023 ): The upper age limit for appearing in the LDCE will be 40 years. Candidate should not born before 01/06/1983.
Age Relaxation: Upper age limit will be relaxed by 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

- Head Constable (Ministerial): Rs 25,500 – 81,100/-

Selection Process
- The recruitment process will consist of CBT/Skill Test/PST &DV and medical examination (DME/RME).
- Marks scored by candidates in Computer Based Test (CBT) will be normalized and such normalized scores will be used to determine final merit.
- On the basis of their performance in the Computer Based Test, candidates will be shortlisted for appearing in Skill Test.
- Skill tests are mandatory but qualifying in nature.
- Only those candidates who qualified in Computer Based Test will be allowed to appear in Skill Test.
- PST is mandatory but qualifying in nature.
- Only those candidates who qualified in the Skill test will be allowed to PST, document verification, and Medical Examination.
- Candidates are required to submit all documents in original for verification at the time of Document Verification.
- Final Selection will be made on the basis of the performance of candidates in Computer Based Test.
Scheme of Examination
Computer Based Test:
- The Computer Based Test will consist of one paper with 100 objective type questions to be attempted in 1 ½ hours (90 Minutes).
- There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
- Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions.

Skill Test (On computer) (For Assistant Sub Inspector (Steno):
- Dictation: 10 minutes@80 words per minute.
- Transcription time– 50 minutes in English or 65 minutes in Hindi on the computer.
Skill Test (On computer) ( For Head Constable/Ministerial):
- English Typing with a minimum speed of 35 words per minute on a computer. OR
- Hindi Typing with a minimum speed of 30 words per minute on a computer.
Document Verification: Candidates will be shortlisted for Document Verification from the pool of candidates who qualify in CBT, Skill Test, and PST.
Detailed Medical Examination (DME): The shortlisted candidates will be medically examined by the Medica Officer/Medical Board constituted by the CRPF to assess their physical and medical fitness.
Selection Process
The selection process for CRPF Recruitment 2023 consists of the following stages:
- Written Examination: Candidates will be required to appear for a written examination that assesses their knowledge and aptitude in the relevant field.

Sub-Inspector (RO): Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized University with Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science as subjects.
Sub-Inspector (Crypto): Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized University with Mathematics and Physics as subjects.
Sub-Inspector (Technical):
- B.E./B.Tech or Equivalent in Electronics or Telecommunication or Computer Science as the main subject. Or

Sub-Inspector (Civil) (Male only): Intermediate with three years diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized Board/Institution or University or equivalent.

- 10th Class pass from a recognized Board with three years diploma in Radio Engineering or Electronics or Computers, from a recognized Institute. Or
- B.Sc. Degree in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognized University.
- Desirable: Preference shall be given to persons having training in Software or Hardware computers.
Assistant SubInspector (Draughtsman): Pass in Matric with English, General Science, and Mathematics from a recognized board with three years diploma in Draughtsman Course (Civil/ Mechanical Engineering) from a Govt. recognized Polytechnic.
Age Limit ( As on 21 May 2023 ):
- Sub Inspector (Radio Operator/Crypto/Technical): Below 30 years. Candidate should not be born before 22/05/1993.
- SI (Civil): 21 to 30 years. Candidate should not be born before 22/05/1993 or after 21/05/2002.
- Asst. Sub Inspector (Technical/Draughtsman): Between 18 to 25 years. Candidate should not be born before 22/05/1998 or after 21/05/2005.

- OBC: 3 Years
- Ex-Servicemen: 03 – 08 years
- Candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of J&K: 05 – 10 years

Selection Process:
- The recruitment process will consist of a Written Examination/PST/PET & DV and a medical examination (DME/RME).
- Minimum qualifying marks in Written Examination are as follows
- UR/EX-SERVICEMEN 45% in each part.
- EWS/OBC/ SC/ST 40% in each part.
- Marks scored by candidates in Written Examination will be normalized and such normalized scores will be used to determine final merit and cut-off mark.
- The CRPF shall have the discretion to fix different cut–off marks in Written Examination taking into consideration among others, category-wise vacancies and category-wise number of candidates.
- Only those candidates who qualified in Written Examination will be allowed to appear in PST/PET.
- Only those candidates who qualified in PST/PET will be allowed for document verification.
- Candidates are required to submit all documents in original for verification at the time of Document Verification.
- Final Selection will be made on the basis of the performance of candidates in Computer Based Test.
Scheme of Written Examination:
- Questions will be of Objective Multiple choice type.
- Questions will be set in Hindi and English.
- The syllabus, no.of.papers, time duration & the marks of the examination for each post are clearly explained in the advertisement ( Check Advertisement ).
- There will be a negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer for SI (RO/Crypto/Tech) posts and 0.25 marks for each wrong answer for SI (Civil), and ASI (Tech/Draughtsman) posts. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions.
- The date & Centre of the Written Examination (CBT) will be informed to candidates via Admit Card (To be downloaded from the CRPF website), SMS & Email.
- Candidates are not permitted to use calculators and other electronic gadgets.
- They should not, therefore, bring the same inside the Examination Hall.
- The Objection Management Link shall be hosted on the CRPF website 2-3 days after the conduct of the examination to invite objections from the candidates related to questions and answer keys of the Test, if any.
- The dates of Tests indicated in the Notice are tentative.
- Any change in the schedule of the Test will be informed to the candidates only through the website of the CRPF.
- There is no provision for re-evaluation/rechecking of the scores.
Physical Standard Test/Physical Efficiency Test:
- On the basis of their performance in the Written Examination, candidates will be shortlisted for appearing in PST/PET.
- On the basis of their performance in the Computer Based Test, candidates will be shortlisted for appearing in PST, and PET.
- PST/PET are mandatory but qualifying in nature.
Document Verification: Candidates will be shortlisted for Document Verification from the pool of candidates who qualify in the Written Examination and PST/PET.
Detailed Medical Examination (DME):
- The shortlisted candidates will be medically examined by the Medical Officer/Medical Board constituted by the CRPF to assess their physical and medical fitness.
- The medical examination of the candidates will be conducted in terms of the Uniform Guidelines for recruitment.
Examination Fees:
- Rs 200/- for SI.
- Rs. 100/- for ASI for male candidates of General, EWS, and OBC only.
- Candidates belonging to SC/ST, Ex-servicemen, and Female candidates of all categories are exempted.
